Using plants as a metaphor to explore migration, our Across RCA project Xanadu aims to create a borderless online community and digitally deconstruct artificial borders. Plants are signifiers of migration through pollination. Much like many cases of human migration, there is a lack of agency within this process. By using plants as a mode of inter-connectivity, the Xanadu project fosters an interactive limitless safe space where people all around the world can come together and feel a sense of belonging.

Once joining our community, each of our members will be assigned a plant persona.
Members are encouraged to choose a plant from their nationality. Every month we celebrate our new members by spotlighting some of their favourite plants and migration stories on our Instagram.
