Digital technology is a fundamental component of contemporary experiences and re-imaginings of the body. The "digital body" symbolises "extension, abstraction and reconstructive intensification" in the virtual world, which is often based on the dominance of the human mind. However, "what constitutes the body? How can the "digital body" represent the uniqueness of human identity? How is the construction of the "digital body" being chosen?
The body and the mind are separate entities that constitute the individual human being in the current physical world. But in Psychophysical parallelism, it is proposed that body and mind have a non-causal correlation, are independent and interact with each other. In the same way, in the virtual world, the " digital body " as a continuation of the human being. Can it represent the human identity by only relying on the mind?
By exploring the construction of "digital identity" in the virtual world, the project aims to re-examine the definition of "digital identity" in the virtual world. What is the only thing that can represent your identity when you create your own "digital body" by transforming data to reconstruct your biometric identity into a virtual world? Does the "digital body" in the virtual world represent you? Is it possible to create a continuum of biometric identity?
