I, Zhang Tianning (Gloria), studied Visual Communication Design at the China Academy of Art and am now studying Information Experience Design at the Royal College of Art.
I am an eternal observer. Most of my work starts from feelings and is more based on social issues and sociology. Narrative is important in my projects. And I have been working on how to step out of traditional design circles and into a newer media in this technological age. I believe that the field of design is being tested to maintain the foundations of visual communication and to extend the visual in a multi-sensory and dimensional way.
With my observations and critical thinking about the world and the things around me, I want to contribute to society with my designs. Based on the independence of the viewer, I want everyone to interpret my work in a different way. The presentation of the work is only a part of it; it is when people's minds and art collide that the resulting content makes up the artwork as a whole.
