SUWEN WANG

Use design to explore how to concretize alternative values, belief systems, and ideals through interactive technology.

Suwen Wang is a London-based artist who focuses on neglected or shared aspects of socio-political trends and interpersonal dynamics through personal observation and analytical inquiry. His mission statement is to focus on the scale of how art can address socio-political issues through distributed, multi-site, participatory artworks, with an ethos to reveal the complexities of social issues and build visibility, accountability, and solidarity around them.

Moreover, use design to explore how alternative values, belief systems, and ideals can be made tangible through interaction technology in ways that spark reflection on the kinds of worlds people wish to live in. It stimulates discussion and debate between designers and the public about existing and emerging technologies' social, cultural, and ethical implications.

Furthermore, He believes that most of the world's problems result from information failures due to the concentration of power and the need for more structured and conscious collaboration. He is driven to address these bottlenecks, find ways to fund our collective commons, and enable everyone to make better decisions in non-linear, complex systems through emerging technologies and design.

Collaboration is deeply ingrained in the way he works. It allows us to learn from our backgrounds and generational, intersectional, and geopolitical differences and to shift and recalibrate our responses in dialogue with other artists. Regarding bringing new perspectives, collaboration allows him to explore immediate transformation questions through the temporal body, the authentic voice, and the moments and spaces in between.
