A clay figure representing a Peat-person standing on a bridge, surrounded by healthy peatlands

Our project is a short film that incorporates elements of stop-motion animation using a figure made of sustainably sourced clay and sedum which represents a "Peat-person" that tells the story of peat formation, its histories and brings about awareness of its advantages. The main question that we ask is – 'How can an increased understanding of the efficiency of Peatlands as carbon sequesters increase our knowledge of other carbon rich natural and perhaps future man-made ecosystems and highlight the need to raise awareness, prevent damage and destruction and identify the best custodians for education and preservation.'
