Monica Jae Yeon Moon is a writer and researcher enrolled in V&A RCA History of Design MA programme, under the patronage of Kwanjeong Educational Foundation and Korea Institute of Design Promotion. Previously she studied Fashion Studies and French Literature at Seoul National University. She's currently an editor at Vestoj and her writings on fashion have been published by 1Granary and Design History Society blog. Her MA dissertation explores the more subtle ways colonialism lingers in European high fashion, specifically in the notion of originality and imitation, and aims to redefine it by looking at the work of Virgil Abloh, the late designer of Off-White and Louis Vuitton, and contemporary Korean designers.
